Chinatown Wars HD heading to iPad

Rockstar has announced that an HD version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be released for the Apple iPad on September 9th, priced at $9.99.

In addition to the wide range of features developed specifically for the previous App Store iterations, including intuitive multi-touch user interface controls, adjusted difficulty levels and iTunes customisable radio station Independence Radio, Chinatown Wars HD comes to the iPad with brand new, updated high definition graphics,” the developer explained.

Sales of the game on DS and PSP failed to meet the heady expectations the industry placed upon them, a fate that Take-Two blamed on the rampant piracy that blights both formats.

However, the cut-price 5.99 version to hit iPhone and iPod Touch has been a far bigger success.
