ELSPA: "Industry must work closer together"

Michael Rawlinson this week called for the industry to work closer together as the games market evolved and changes .

Speaking in a wide-ranging speech at the Abertay Digital Spark conference, the ELSPA director general said "boundaries are blurring between developer and publisher and with these changes new opportunities are arising, and we all need to adapt to make the most of this brave new world.”

Rawlinson said developers and educators would be welcome to join publishers in the organisation’s membership – just days before it rebrands to UKIE, the association for UK Interactive Entertainment).

He also said that, on the topic of tax breaks, "whilst ELSPA will continue to lobby on the introduction of tax breaks and other financial support to the games industry, we need to look at other ways of helping ourselves and of working more closely together to identify new business models that support industry growth".
