Alan Wake release pushed forward

Microsoft has announced a revised release date for Xbox 360 exclusive Alan Wake in May – one week earlier than expected.

The game will hit retail on May 14th rather than its initial May 21st date, which, incidentally, is the day Red Dead Redemption and Split/Second: Velocity are released.

Director of Xbox & Entertainment for Microsoft UK Stephen McGill said: Fans in the UK have been crying out to get their hands on Alan Wake since it was first announced and we’re thrilled to be able to deliver it to them early.”

The long-awaited thriller action game has been in development for over five years by Remedy, the creators of Max Payne. It will allow players to assume the role of crime novel author Alan Wake who retreats to a small town and experiences the mysterious disappearance of his wife.
