CD Projekt Red sequel to run on in-house tech

New engine for Witcher 2

CD Projekt Red senior producer Tomek Gop told VG427 that Witcher 2, the upcoming sequel to their well-received 2007 title, will run on a new engine built in-house.

Gop said that the studio have removed a lot of the limitations that were present in the first title.

“Some of them were pretty obvious and some closer to the production pipeline. Lots of things are now easier for designers, animators and artists to do without programmers’ help,” he said.

He went on to state that he was very happy with the way the title is coming together before its release next year.
