Early bird deadline ends today for computer graphics conference

New sessions confirmed for Siggraph 2009

The computer graphics and interactive interactions conference Siggraph 2009 has confirmed a new game-focused session as its early bird deadline draws to a close.

The session, titled ‘Big, fast, and cool: Making the art for Fight Night Round 4 and Gears of War 2’, is designed to explore the creation of the art of the two games. It will also look at how these processes have expanded the boundaries for what is possible with real-time rendering graphics.

The session marks part of a newly increased focus on video games and real-time rendering at the Siggraph event, which is now in its 36th year. The conference, which hopes to draw 25,000 professionals to New Orleans, Louisiana, takes place from the 3rd to 7th of August this year.

Today is the deadline for early bird discounts, which are available through the official Siggraph website.
