Valve boss to give opening address at exec conference

Gabe Newell to keynote D.I.C.E. summit

Valve’s Gabe Newell has been announced as the opening keynote speaker for the 2009 D.I.C.E. summit.

"Gabe Newell has been a leader in the games industry for more than a decade, not only as a creator of best-selling games, but as an innovator in how games are marketed and sold," said Joseph Olin, president of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

"With the industry poised to explore new ways to entertain the growing legions of game players, Gabe’s perspective and vision are an appropriate way to open this year’s Summit."

Registration for the 2009 D.I.C.E. summit, which takes place from February 18th to 20th, has been extended until midnight on January 30th. For more details, check out the event website.
