Xbox 360 tops teens Xmas most wanted

A poll conducted amongst residents of teenage virtual world favourite Habbo has shown that games consoles are the most sought after present for teens this Christmas – and the Xbox 360 leads the crowd.

Of the 4,540 UK teens polled, 39 per cent wanted Santa to bring a PC or games console this year. In contrast, 14 per cent yearned for a mobile phone and 13 per cent want ‘clothes and accessories’.

Xbox 360 was the most wanted console, with 20 per cent of aspiring console owners hoping to receive Microsoft’s machine. It was followed by Nintendo’s Wii (19 per cent) in second and Sony’s PS3 (15 per cent) in third. DS and PSP were well down the pecking order, claiming just two per cent and one per cent of the vote respectively.

Apple will also be surprised to see iPhone emerging as only the third most sought after phone, with both Sony Ericsson and Nokia finishing above it in the mobile list.

In addition, even Santa’s not immune to the credit crunch – 48 per cent of teens have been told to expect a less than usual amount of gifts under the tree this year.
