CAPTIVATE 08: ‘This is our strongest ever line up’

Capcom believes its 2008 line up will let it to compete at the top end of the market and will surprise the industry.

The firm celebrated its 25th anniversary at Captivate in Las Vegas last week, and showed off some of its big upcoming releases including Resident Evil 5, Dark Void, Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando. The firm also unveiled children’s title NeoPets and Spyborgs and showed off its growing portfolio of downloadable titles.

We’ve had a fantastic 2007, but it’s the line-up for 2008 that is most exciting as it is possibly the strongest in our long history,” said Capcom’s Senior European marketing director Michael Pattison to MCV.

Competition is fierce, but 2008 will surprise a lot of people in the industry and we believe Capcom will more than compete. We are determined to continue to innovate, delivering new entertainment experiences to our consumers on a wide range of formats and mediums. We’re responding rapidly to the changes in the marketplace and the changing demands of our consumers.”
