Dundee developer set for expansion beyond mobile titles

Tag Games ramps up following investment

Scottish mobile games studio Tag Games has secured what it calls a ‘significant’ amount of games funding.

Tag has secured interest from technology entrepreneur Bill Dobbie, plus funding from the Scottish Enterprise Seed Fund. Now the team is hoping to expand by adding six more staff.

Paul Farley, MD, explained: “The investment will be used to expand our product development teams, to diversify onto new platforms including a repositioning of the company as a casual/downloadable games company rather than being mobile specific.”

The company also plans to begin a corporate re-branding and invest in technology and tools.

Pat McHugh, director of Scottish Enterprise’s Scottish Seed Fund, commented: “We are delighted to have supported this investment, the market for mobile gaming is growing significantly and there is a real opportunity for Tag to capitalise on this.”
