Scottish animation house used for Colin McRae DIRT trailer.

Axis spins for Codemasters

Glasgow-based CG animation company Axis Animation has been signed to work on the new trailer for Codemasters’ next-gen game Colin McRae DIRT.

Using assets taken directly from the game, Axis put together a sequence that shows off the game’s R4 concept car. The firm laos used a combination of in-game motion capture and hand animation to secure detailed content and add effects.

‘I’ve been able to stick to my vision throughout the project and everyone on the team added to it in their own way," said director Wiek Luijken. "We worked on this project with an amazing group of people, both at Axis and Codemasters, and really pulled this off as a team effort.
