Nintendo to take Labo workshops on the road

Nintendo has announced it will be hosting a series of workshops throughout US cities, helping consumers get the most out of their piles of cardboard for Switch.

The events are free to attend and aimed at younger players – 9-12 years old is the range noted, so if you’re eight-and-a-half you’re missing out. Sorry. The one-hour workshops will provide a creative atmosphere in which cardboard experiments can be conducted under the supervision of lab-coated Nintendo assistants

Sessions will focus on the Toy-Con RC Car, with workshop participants able to learn what it is and how it works, how to build it and – of course – how to customise the car to live up to that whole ‘being creative’ aspect of things. At the end, kids will be able to take their RC Cars home, though Nintendo is clear there won’t be any Switches handed out for free. Ah well.

The Labo events will visit these US cities:

Phoenix, Arizona

Knoxville, Tennessee

Orange County, California

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Baltimore, Maryland

Charlotte, North Carolina

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Savannah, Georgia

Denver, Colorado

Seattle, Washington

There’s been no confirmation of a UK or European tour for the Labo workshops at the time of writing, but we’re hopeful. If only because ideas on what to do with the cardboard we have lying around would be very welcome indeed.

More details on the workshops can be found right over here.
