[Industry news] Masters of Albion first look gameplay released

This is a press release posted in addition to our usual editorial content.

22cans has released the first full gameplay trailer for Masters of Albion, a God game reimagined by Peter Molyneux. The 6-minute epic deep dive gives players clear proof of life and lets them see firsthand the epic adventure that awaits them when they jump into the game on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 18:00 BST, exclusively on PC via Steam in Early Access.

This trailer offers players an extended, continuous gameplay sequence, allowing them to see how the game’s various mechanics come together in real time. It showcases the freedom players have to create unique strategies, experiment with systems, and overcome the challenges Albion presents, and represents the very heart of what a God game should be. From constructing buildings and designing armour, to solving quests and fighting off the chaos of night, the experience of playing Masters of Albion begins to feel tangible and fully realised.

“This is where the game truly comes alive,” said Peter Molyneux. “Seeing all of these systems working together — building, crafting, exploration, and conflict — finally delivers the feeling of power, creativity, and responsibility that defines a true God game.”

Fans of Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, and Fable may recognise familiar ideas and features drawn from Peter Molyneux’s earlier work. This includes the iconic voice of Marc Silk, known for his performances in Black & White and Fable, who guides players through Day 11 in Albion. Within this complete day-and-night cycle, viewers will see what it takes to become a Master of Albion, and gain a first-hand sense of the power, creativity, and freedom that awaits them.

Players can wishlist the game on Steam now, ahead of its release on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Keep up to date on the latest news via X, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Players can get exclusive news and content by signing up for the official Discord.
