Team EnVyUs to take part in the Gfinity Elite Series

Gfinity has announced that the fifth organisation to take part in its Elite Series will be Team EnVyUs.

This sees EnVyUs join Reason Gaming, Team Infused, Excel eSports and Prophecy in the Elite Series.

As one of the biggest organisations in the world the move comes as a bit of a surprise, as the first wave of announcements had a very UK focus to them. However it is great to see a massive org like this get involved.

As EnVy already have a ton of teams, including a CS team, they will be forming teams specifically for the Elite Series, which unfortunately means the likes of ScreaM will not be hitting up the Arena anytime soon.

"Following the announcement of the top UK eSports organisations yesterday, we have delivered on our promise to make the eSports community sit up and take more notice of the UK eSports scene by adding Team EnVyUs to the Gfinity Elite Series,” said Neville Upton, CEO, Gfinity. “Team EnVyUs are a global eSports powerhouse with an engaged, fanatical following of over 4,000,000 fans. Their pedigree and standing in the global eSports order is unwavering and shows that we are serious about our intention to take eSports in the UK to the next level. We are not only passionate about investing in home-grown players and teams but also ensuring that they have opportunities to compete on the world stage. Gfinity Elite Series is something that is set to be a staple on the global eSports calendar for years to come and we are excited about revealing the remaining three teams for the tournament."
