The Division makes Swedish dev last month’s most successful studio

Develop Studio Sales Chart: Massive Entertainment leads the way in March

Another Ubisoft studio has topped our latest Develop Studio Sales Chart, thanks to the success of Massive Entertainment’s Tom Clancy’s The Division.

The Swedish studio’s success follows Ubisoft Montreal’s victory in our February rankings with Far Cry Primal.

Online multiplayer shooter-RPG hybrid The Division was the best-selling game of the month, and one of only four new entries to make it into the Top 20. The others were much lower, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD – developed by Australian studio Tantalus – at No.8, Namco’s Pokkén Tournament at No.11, and Quantic Dream’s HD remasters of Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls at No.20.

As always, the studios are measured by UK revenue at retail, with data provided by GfK Chart-Track. Digital sales are not included in the calculations, nor are retail transactions made outside the UK.

The full Top Ten for March 2016 was as follows:

  1. Massive Entertainment
  2. EA Canada
  3. Ubisoft Montreal
  4. Traveller’s Tales
  5. PopCap Games
  6. Treyarch
  7. Rockstar North
  8. Tantalus
  9. Digital Illusions
  10. Nintendo
