Octopus Tree currently working on three PC titles

Encore opens indie publishing label

Casual games firm Encore Publishing Group is to expand into the indie sector with a new publishing arm.

Octopus Tree will focus specifically on indie studios and games, with the company telling Develop that it is currently on the hunt for more titles to sign.

Encore is the parent firm to a host of brands, including a number of print, productivity and education products, alongside traditional entertainment releases.

So far, three PC titles have been announced for release this year through the publisher: Goliath, Buildanauts (pictured) and Robot Arena III.

“The Octopus Tree is the perfect symbol for how we approach games,” said marketing director Tracy Magnuson.

“We want to help independent games to become mighty and strong, and also to be unique and unlike anything else.

“We are here to help independent developers craft their games into ones that stand apart from the rest like our namesake, the Octopus Tree.”
