Game jams, expert talks and social nights planned for home of Lionhead, Criterion and Epic

Guildford-based Rocketdesk to offer co-working space for developers

One of the UK’s development hubs is to become a little easier for smaller studios to break into.

Ben Ward and Neil Johnston have opened Rocketdesk, a collaborative working space dedicated to games creators based in the Surrey Technology Centre.

It’s backed by Surrey University, as well as other local studios and the government.

Games firms based in the town include Lionhead, EA, Ubisoft, Criterion, 22cans and Epic Games.

As well as building the indie development community through its working space, Rocketdesk hopes to introduce events such as social nights, game jams and expert talks in the future.

Desk membership is £260 per month, with other options available for devs looking for office space.
