Call of Duty takes the top spot the week before Christmas No.1

One week remains until the UK’s Christmas No.1 is decided and Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III is once again the top dog in the UK All Formats chart.

The shooter rose despite a 37 per cent decline in sales this week. Star Wars Battlefront climbs to one place to No.2 as we get closer to the release of The Force Awakens this coming Thursday.

Last week’s No.1 FiFA 16 drops to third place as sales decline 49 per cent. EA’s football title is still a strong contender for the Christmas No.1 – the charts for the week ending December 19th. FIFA games currently hold the records for most Christmas No.1s, currently laying claim to eight.

Fallout 4 drops one place to No.4 with a 21 per cent sales dip, while Minecraft: Story Mode rises two places to fifth position.

Just Cause 3, which debuted at No.4 last week, falls to sixth place with a not-too-shabby 43 per cent sales decline. Meanwhile, Rainbow Six: Siege falls three positions to No.9.

The only new entry in the charts this week is EA’s The Sims 4: Get Together at No.38.

Below is the software Top Ten for the week ending December 12th:

1. Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Activision Blizzard
2. Star Wars Battlefront, EA
3. FIFA 16, EA
4. Fallout 4, Bethesda
