But no word on PES 2016 sales

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain ships 5m

Konami revenue is unsurprisingly up year-on-year thanks to the launch of Metal Gear Solid V.

The company says it has since September shipped 5m copies of The Phantom Pain, including downloads.

It did not specify how much is being made by the game’s premium multiplayer DLC, nor if the game has yet reached profit – although this seems likely. PES 2016 sales have not been detailed.

As a result Konami’s Digital Entertainment division saw H1 revenues of ¥51.7bn, up from ¥44bn the year before. Operating profit jumped from ¥7.4bn to ¥12.7bn. Overall Konami revenues climbed slightly to ¥107.7bn with net profit doubling to ¥7.8bn.
