Ikaruga creator working on new PS4 shooter

The man behind cult Treasure shooter Ikaruga has said he’s currently developing a new PS4 shooter called Ubusana.

Siliconera reports that little is known about Hiroshi Iuchi’s game beyond the fact that it will be a digital release and could go multi-platform at some stage.

Its release could be some way off, with work currently concentrating on polishing the base systems.

Udusana will be an M2 title – the studio’s recent releases include the fantastic Xbox 360 port of Cave’s Mushihimesama Futari and Sega’s retro 3D re-releases on 3DS.

Ikaruga has become a cult title since its arcade and Dreamcast release thanks to its unusual combination of shooting and binary colour puzzling. It was subsequently released on Xbox Live and, more recently, Steam.
