VIDEO: From Software’s Bloodborne PS4 exclusivity confirmed

Bloodborne will be an exclusive PS4 title, it has been confirmed.

The game is indeed a co-production between SCE Japan Studios and From Software. It’s being directed by Demon Souls and Dark Souls guruHidetaka Miyazaki and is due out in spring 2015.

Face your fears as you search for answers in the ancient city of Yharnam, now cursed with a strange endemic illness spreading through the streets like wildfire,” the official blurb reads.

Danger, death and madness lurk around every corner of this dark and horrific world, and you must discover its darkest secrets in order to survive.”

So what questions remain? Chiefly, how closely related is Bloodborne to the Demon Souls series? Will it employ the same structure? Or is From branching out into something new?

The game’s product details certainly sound very Dark Souls like.

Strategic Action Combat,” it says. Armed with a unique arsenal of weaponry, including guns and saw cleavers, you’ll need wits, strategy and reflexes to take down the agile and intelligent enemies that guard the city’s dark secrets.”
