Katee Sackhoff named as voice actor for lead character Rán

Eve: Valkyrie drops Unity for Unreal Engine 4

CCP has ditched Unity in favour of Unreal Engine 4 for its upcoming VR space dogfighter Eve: Valkyrie.

As reported by PCWorld, the change was revealed during the developer’s Fanfest event in Iceland. During the keynote the studio said most of the team had experience with Unreal from Dust 514, so it made sense for the team to move away from Unity.

Eve: Valkyrie is currently being developed at CCP’s UK studio in Newcastle.

As well as changing engine, the developer revealed that former Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff will provide voice acting for the game as lead character Rán.

“The first time I played Eve: Valkyrie I immediately knew I had to be a part of it,” said Sackhoff.

“Even with the roles I have played, it is the closest I have ever felt to being a real spaceship pilot. It is a truly transformative video game experience."
