GRID: Autosport racing to PS3 and 360

Codemasters’ next GRID game will not be released on next-gen, reports claim.

Brasil Gamer is reporting, as per Gematsu, that GRID: Autosport will be released for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on June 27th.

The title apparently promises more content than ever seen before in the series, with the action spread across 22 different locations and over 100 tracks.

A single player mode seeing players forging a successful career will once again feature, as will the sponsorship system. An official announcement is expected today.

The GRID brand debuted in 2008 as a successor to the TOCA Race Driver series. GRID 2 was released last year.

UPDATE: It’s official. There’s some blurb:

"GRID: Autosport aims to move the series back in line as a more authentic racing game. Set to include a more authentic handling model (more Sim than Race Driver: GRID), five distinct disciplines; Touring, Endurance, Open Wheel, Tuner and Street. Race at 22 locations (primarily circuit based) with a combined route list that totals over 100. This game is, at its heart, inspired by you guys, our core community."
