Respawn reined supreme this month, with its debut FPS Titanfall, which arrived on Xbox One and PC at the start of the month.

Elsewhere, the fight for the top spots was hotly contested by major releases, including InFamous: Son Second from Sucker Punch and Thief from Eidos Montreal.

This month also saw independent studios back with gusto, as titles from Respawn, Obsidian, From Software and Popcap all proved popular with consumers.

North American studios had the biggest share of titles, with six from the US and three from Canada. Five Japanese-made titles featured, including Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. While UK regulars 4J, Traveller’s Tales and Rockstar North all appeared for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, the Lego Move Videogame and GTA V respectively.

Traveller’s tales also managed to top the month of February, despite the likes of Turn 10 and Guerrilla Games challenging with their titles for the latest consoles.
