Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS4 launch set for April 2014

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will arrive on PS4 sometime in April, Square Enix has announced.

The publisher also revealed a PS4 beta phase will take place on Feburary 22nd, 2014 in North America and Japan – though no mention on whether Europe will be included or receive its own beta period was to be found.

The PS4 version of the MMO was announced during this year’s E3. Square Enix later confirmed that PS3 players will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for free, adding that characters and saved data can be transferred as well.

A Realm Reborn is a relaunch of the mess that was the original and since-scrapped Final Fantasy XIV Online. It officially launched in August on PC and PS3 after several beta runs.
