Ridge Racer drifting onto iOS and Android

Namco Bandai’s Ridge Racer IP is to try its hand at smartphones.

The brand is to mark its 20th birthday by releasing an iOS and Android title called Ridge Racer Slipstream that will, according to the publisher, bring the series’ popular racing and drifting mechanics to a new racing engine”.

It will feature several game modes including career, ten tracks available in both forward and reverse and vehicle modding for its selection of 12 cars.

There’s no word yet on what payment model it will use, but judging by Namco Bandai’s recent output F2P seems like an almost certain bet.

Ridge Racer Slipstream is due out this month.
