Codemasters to release F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition digitally on Wii U

A digital-only F1 game is on the way to Wii U from Codemasters.

It’s called F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition and is basically a beefed-up version of the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC racer released last November.

Despite its Mario Kart-like appearance it features lots of officially licensed real F1 drivers including Jensen Button, Fernando Alonso and freshly-crowned real-world F1 champ Sebastian Vettel.

Unique to the Wii U version will be the ability to race using a player’s Mii and the chance to use the GamePad’s motion abilities for steering wheel-like control.
