PS4 Link app arrives on Vita with next firmware update

Sony’s Playstation 4 companion app will arrive for Vita onboard the device’s next firmware update.

Engadget reports on Sony president Shuhei Yoshida’s announcement of the new app’s planned arrival on Sony’s handheld, though there’s no mention of when the accompanying Vita update will actually release.

Originally announced as Playstation App, the PS4 Link app will give users access to extra features related to PS4 games. It also will allow users to purchase content online, watch streamed gameplay from a linked console, and browse updates from friends.

The iOS and Android versions of the app are scheduled to launch alongside the PS4 next month.
