Copenhagen-based microstudio working on new multi-platform project

Tough Guy Studios secures $350,000 funding

Independent Danish developer Touch Guy Studios has secured $350,000 in funding from CAT Science.

The investment from the Danish investment firm’s subdivision Cat Game Invest will be used to finance the development of a new multi-platform project set to be announced in summer.

Touch Guy Studios, founded in 2011, has previously developed titles such as action-arcade game Time Ducks for iOS and Android, in which users must cross a road without getting run over.

"As a small indie developer, we have always valued our own independence and the prospect of securing funding for the second Tough Guys project whilst simultaneously retaining this was quite daunting,” said Touch Guy Studios CEO Morten Sommer.

“In CAT Science we found an investor that understands our crazy game ideas and supports us financially with the freedom of letting us make the product we want for our gamers”.

Investment manager Allan Rasmussen added: “As an investor we are flooded with game concepts that are presented to us each year we found Tough Guy Studios’ concept to be extremely interesting.

“A great team with a great game concept is what we are always looking for. So we did not take very long to decide to invest in this project since we are convinced that this is going to become a great investment.”
