Xbox 360 gets pay-as-you-go Sky Sports access

Sky and Microsoft have struck a deal to bring pay-as-you-go Sky Sports access to Xbox 360 owners.

It arrives as part of an expansion to Sky’s streaming video service app Now TV. As announced yesterday, Sky is for the first time offering accessing to its sports broadcast on a non-subscription basis.

Now TV users, whom can access the service on Xbox 360 (proving they are a an Xbox Live Gold member) as well as PC and tablets, can now elect to pay a one-off fee of 9.99 to access Sky’s six sports channels for 24 hours.

That’s a lot more expensive than subscribing, of course, but for those who don’t want to commit to a monthly contract and just want to access a particular football match or F1 race, it’s potentially a good deal.

Sky Sports’ roster includes Premier League and Champions League football, all 19 Grand Prix races, rugby, golf, tennis and the Ashes.
