Motorstorm developer unveils PS4 racer Driveclub

Motorstorm developer Evolution Studios has unveiled a new IP for the PlayStation 4, titled Driveclub.

Driveclub is a social racing game the encourages players to come together to form clubs, drive in groups, and compete with others.

While Motorstorm games were off-road and featured unlicensed cars, Driveclub features predominantly road/track surfaces with real-world sports cars.

During his presentation, Evolution’s Matt Southern also stressed upon the team’s borderline insane” attention to detail in getting the car models within the game – from textures, to scale, to lighting – inch perfect.

Southern also spoke about the game’s first-person mode, which was showcased via a video that showed the player walk around the car, open the door, sit in, fasten the seat belt, and head into a race.

No other details were given, but there’s a good chance that, like Motorstorm, this could be a PS4 launch title. We should hear a lot more about Driveclub soon.
