Guild Wars 2 hits 3m sales

ArenaNet has announced its sub-free MMO Guild Wars 2 has sold over 3m copies, with detailed plans for expanding the game in 2013 revealed by the developer as well.

Game director Colin Johanson shared the figure in the opening of a lengthy blog post on the game’s official website.

Guild Wars 2 launched late last August, so it took the title less than five months to hit the impressive sales mark.

ArenaNet also revealed several details on expanding the title this year, including new content for guilds, expanded features in world vs. world and player vs. player experiences, online leaderboards, better security, and more.
