Double Fine’s Kinect Party will be free until the New Year

Microsoft has announced that mini-game collection Kinect Party will be free to download for a limited period.

The game, formerly known as Happy Action TV, is a sequel to Happy Action Theater. It is developed by Psychonauts and Brutal Legend creators Double Fine.

The party title encourages same-room multiplayer across a number of different frivolous activities.

It will be free to download between its release on December 18th and December 31st. Come the New Year, however, it will cost 800 Microsoft Points or 400 MSP for existing owners of Double Fine Happy Action Theater. The latter group will also be able to import the Action Theater activities into Kinect Party.
