Jagex hires ex-Bigpoint MD as VP of third-party publishing

Jagex has continued its hiring spree by recruiting a former Bigpoint as head of third-party publishing.

Rob Ollett, who previously worked as an MD at the browser games giant, will be responsible for managing and growing Jagex’s upcoming third-party publishing platform.

“It’s with great pleasure that we welcome Rob to Jagex,” said the studio’s CMO David Solari.

“We have big plans for 3rd party publishing and Rob’s experience in this area makes him perfectly placed to excel in this role. Alongside growing our existing third-party IP portfolio, Rob will be instrumental in scaling our third-party strategy in 2013 and beyond.”

Ollett added: “It’s great to be joining Jagex at such an interesting time. Jagex has very ambitious 3rd party plans and l look forward to helping to establish Jagex not only as a world class developer, but also as the service based publisher of choice for online developers around the world.”

As well as previously managing licensing and the development of third-party MMO games at Bigpoint, Ollett has also worked at Dubit and Fun Technologies as VP of business development.
