"Little enthusiasm" for Activision Blizzard acquisition

Vivendi is struggling to find a buyer for Activision Blizzard, according to reports.

Bloomberg reckons that the media conglomerate is finding little enthusiasm among potential suitors” with Microsoft, Take-Two and Walt Disney having ruled themselves out of the running.

The preference for a cash sale has also made deals with Tencent and Nexon less likely.

Vivendi chairman Jean-Rene Fourtou has, however, admitted for the first time that a possible sale is in the works, confirming that it’s a possibility – we’re always looking at opportunities for all of our businesses” when pressed by reporters.

Kotick’s response to a similar question? It’s great weather.”

Talks with potential buyers have apparently been ongoing for weeks” and Vivendi’s share price has climbed 20 per cent since news of the potential sale broke in the first week of June.
