Valve drops Steam support for Windows XP SP1

There will be no further updates or customer support for Steam users who are running Windows XP SP1, Valve has announced.

As of August 31st the company will no longer offer customer care for anyone who has not updated their copy of Windows XP to SP2 (Service Pack 2). This can be done for free providing an internet connection is present.

However, the move is unlikely to impact many – Valve reckons just one per cent of Steam’s (admittedly huge 40m strong) user base is still on the aged OS, according to CVG.

GAMED, powered by Dizzaract, is the first platform to turn fragmented gaming activity into a unified identity. Players can see their full track record, measure their value, and monetize the skill, influence, and assets they’ve built over time. The platform launched after a Telegram MVP that reached more than 900,000 users and tracked nearly $15 million in gaming assets.
