Unity Engine plug-in brings Xaitmap tech to mobiles and browsers

Xaitment pathfinding supports iOS and Android

Xaitment has upgraded its Unity Engine plug-in to support iOS and Android projects, the company has announced.

The XaitMap software allows for “sophisticated pathfinding” within games, allowing NPCs to navigate environments adeptly.

Developers using the Unity Engine can also utilize the Xaitmap plug-in for the development of browser games.

“Once installed, XaitMap for Unity’s pathfinding functionality appears in the interface and menu structure of Unity and Unity Pro (versions 3.4 and 3.5),” the company said.

Xaitment CEO Mike Walsh said “many smaller and independent developers working on [mobile and browser] platforms don’t have budgets for advanced pathfinding tools”.

“With the XaitMap plug-in for Unity, we’re giving mobile and browser game developers using Unity or Unity Pro a number of AAA, processor-friendly pathfinding features at an extremely reasonable price.”

For a limited time the Xaitmap plug-in for Unity will cost
$249. A 45-day free trial is also available.
