Paul Baker, Chris Burns and Drew Morrow to 'return to DIY roots' with new iOS title

Ex-THQ devs form new independent studio

Three former THQ developers have founded a new independent studio in Australia.

Three Phase Interactive was formed by developers Paul Baker, Chris Burns and Drew Morrow after Melbourne-based developer Blue Tongue Entertainment was closed down last year due to restructuring at THQ.

The developer’s first title, 2D physics-based title Stunt Jumper, will be released on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch in mid 2012.

“All three of us got started in the industry by diving in and making stuff – games, mods, animation, artwork,” said Three Phase technical director Paul Baker.

“It’s so exciting that we can get back to those DIY roots and just focus on making a game together and bringing it to market without all the red tape and organisational overhead of a large studio.”
