Batman to star in new FPS

Warner has lifted the lid on an unlikely new video game outing for The Caped Crusader.

Called Gotham City Impostors, the game offers an "exaggerated take" on the FPS genre and allows players to adopt a persona in the vein of Batman or the Joker.

It is being developed by Condemned and FEAR 2 studio Monolith. It will be a download-only title available on Xbox 360, PSN and PC.

Gotham City Impostors blows apart expectations for superhero games with an exaggerated take on first person shooters, set in a part of the DC Universe players have never seen before,” Warner Interactive’s senior VP of production and development Samantha Ryan said.

Monolith is creating a game that turns Gotham City upside down and we think fans are going to have a blast with this creative twist on multiplayer heroism and anti-heroism as they play up the classic rivalry between Batman and The Joker.”
