Bethesda changes dev setup, has three projects in the works

Having been famed as somewhat of a ‘one at a time’ developer, Bethesda has altered the way it works to allow for multiple projects.

Kotaku reports that Fallout 4 director Todd Howard told a DICE audience that multiple projects are now currently ongoing.

We actually have three kinda longer-term projects we’re doing,” he explained. We’ll talk about them at a much future date, but they’re different than anything we’ve done before, while also being a Bethesda-style game, big and crazy.”

Howard added that Bethesda’s Montreal studio continues to oversee its mobile projects such as Fallout Shelter.

The comments suggest that those projects do not include established franchises such as The Elder Scrolls, although it’s hard to imagine that a new instalment in the RPG series isn’t in the works. Remember, too, that Bethesda this week announced an increased amount of post-release content on the way for RPG hit Fallout 4.

Bethesda confirmed earlier this month that it will be returning to E3 this year with its second ever big showcase.
