2010 proving strong for Capcom

Japanese publisher Capcom has reported strong results for the nine months ending December 31st 2010.

Net sales for the period reached Y70.77bn (535m), a jump of 41.6 per cent year-on-year. Income jumped 165.1 per cent to Y12.77bn (97m) with net profit increasing 294.8 per cent to Y6.84bn (51.7m).

The star performer of the period was Monster Hunter Freedom 3, with total shipments in excess of 4m units.

Strong Western performers included Dead Rising 2 (2m units) and Super Street Fighter IV (1.6m units). Lost Planet 2 has sold 1.5m units, which Capcom admits is below its own expectations.

Joining those titles in the one million sales club was Japanese release Monhan Nikki Pokapoka Airu Mura.

Capcom has also pledged restructure its mobile development operations following the success of iOS titles such as Resident Evil, Phoenix Wright and Street Fighter IV "in an effort to operate business in line with market shifts".
