343 Industries hires professional Halo player

Halo developer 343 Industries has hired professional gamer Eric Hewitt.

Team Beyondreports Hewitt, aka "GH057ayame,"has joined the studio in a yet to be revealed capacity. Hewitt previously competed in professional gaming events with Team Carbon.

Though Hewitt has never worked on the Halo franchise in an official sense, his credentials include assisting the Halo 4 Global Championship and helping create the settings for Halo 4’s official competitive playlist.

This marks the second time the studio has hired from Halo’s player pool—professional players "Dersky" and "Neighbour" joined the team last year.

In related news, Halo PR Manager Rob Semsey recently teased that Halo’s first major Xbox One journey is still on schedule for a 2014 release.
