Halo studio turns to its fan base for talent

343 Industries hires another pro Halo player

Microsoft internal studio 343 Industries has picked up a professional gamer and regular Halo tournament player as part of a recent hiring spree.

News of the hire broke via Twitter when another pro gamer who joined the company in November, Sean Swidersky, congratulated Eric “GH057ayame” Hewitt on his new job.

343 Industries took over the Halo franchise when Bungie left the Microsoft fold to work on Destiny, and has been hiring professional gamers sporadically for months.

Hewitt hasn’t revealed what his position at the company will be but another gamer, Mason “Neighbor” Cobb, was hired in October to work in QA.

The 25 year old rose to fame in the Halo tournament world as part of Team Carbon and Team Classic.

Last week 343 Industries hired former LucasArts creative director Tim Longo and promoted lead concept artist Nicolas ‘Sparth’ Bouvier to the role of art director.
