360 FFXIII is heading to Asia

Some tend to forget that

the now-legendary E3 announcement

that Final Fantasy XIII is to release on both Xbox 360 and PS3 also contained the news that the title would remain PS3-only in Japan – but some sort of Asian release does now seem to be on the cards.

Kotaku reports that at a recent Microsoft event in Taiwanese capital Taipei, the platform holder announced that Square Enix’s RPG title is being lined up for an Xbox 360 release in the country.

However, it’s not yet been decided which localised version is heading for the territory – meaning that Chinese and Korean subtitles could yet be overlaid on either an English or Japanese language track.

If Japanese is used, then the possibility of Japanese imports for Xbox 360 owners raises its head – though this is dependent on region lockouts.
