3D added to Sony Cyber-shot Cameras

Sony announced a range of new Cyber-shot compact cameras which it claims are the first that can capture panoramic shots in 3D.

The new Cyber-shot cameras don’t have two sensors, as one might expect of a 3D camera, but rather capture several images as the photographer moves the camera position themselves. Unfortunately it’s necessary to use a Sony Bravia 3D TV set and the company’s 3D shutter classes to view the images.

The move is yet another example of Sony’s growing commitment to the 3D sector.
