Activision and West/Zampella could be settled out of court

The court case between Activision and former Infinity Ward owners Jason West and Vince Zampella has been delayed amidst rumours of an out-of-court settlement.

LA Times reports that, as on Tuesday, the commencement of legal proceedings were delayed yesterday as both parties spent most of the morning talking behind closed doorsin conference rooms at a Los Angeles Superior Court building”.

Five attorneys for Activision then spent around an hour in private discussions.

The case was finally adjourned until this afternoon, with the rumour being so as to afford all parties further time to talk.

An amicable settlement would certainly suit all sides. Aside from the fact that West and Zampella are allegedly claiming as much as $2bn in damages, the proceedings to date have unearthed private info certainly not intended for public consumption.

Activision has also settled out of court with EA, which was also embroiled in the case.
