Activision offers gold Wii controller

Buyers of Activision’s Wii remake of Goldeneye 007 will have the chance to grab a golden joystick of their own when it hits shelves later this year.

The Goldeneye 007 Classic Edition comes bundled with a copy of the game and a gold Classic Controller Pro, as inspired by 1974 Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun.

Activision’s head of marketing for licensed properties David Pokress said: In addition to the Wii Remote and Nunchuck, Goldeneye will also support the Wii Zapper for point and shoot gamers, giving players several ways to experience Goldeneye on Wii.

We also couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pay homage to the golden gun with the gold Classic Controller Pro, which looks cool and also gives shooter fans a familiar control scheme to use as they blast their way through the game.”

The title is a remake of Nintendo 64’s Goldeneye which received widespread critical acclaim following its release in 1997.

Goldeneye 007 on Wii is expected to be released this Q4. A DS version is also in production.
