Amazon has sold through its initial PlayStation VR launch allocation

PlayStation VR is off to a great start on Amazon.

The online giant opened pre-orders for the headset at 11am this morning. Now it is saying that its initial launch allocation was accounted for in just 45 minutes.

Due to limited stock we are only able to offer one unit per customer per address,” it now says.

Based on our initial allocation we cannot guarantee release day delivery if you ordered after 11:45 GMT, Wednesday 16th March, 2016. You will be notified via email of the expected delivery date closer to the time.”

A number of others retailers, including GAME and Gamestop, are already taking pre-orders for the device.
