Amazon will deliver Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 at midnight

Online retail is trying to muscle its way into the midnight launch market.

Traditionally gamers who feel they must get their hands on a game the very moment it’s released instead of nine hours later when the shops open can either queue up in the dark and cold for a midnight launch or download/preload a title digitally.

Now Amazon is offering shoppers in 20 US cities the option of having their physical copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops III delivered at midnight on the night of November 5th. This is a free service, too, for those who order through the Prime Now app.

The service will only be offered from midnight tonight when launch delivery pre-orders will be taken. Amazon will also be selling beverages, snacks or extra gaming controllers” for those who intend to get cracking on the game straight away and not simply going to bed the moment it’s in hand.

Midnight delivery will be available to Amazon Prime members in Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Manhattan, Miami, Minneapolis, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Antonio, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle.
