Amiibo support being added to Hyrule Warriors

Nintendo has revealed that existing Wii U title Hyrule Warriors will support its Amiibo figure range.

Nintendo of America says that the Link figure specifically will be in some way compatible, although the nature of the functionality has not been revealed.

Upcoming title Super Smash Bros will offer Amiibo support on Wii U and, eventually, 3DS. The game is due out on December 5th with the figures arriving a week before. 3DS support won’t arrive until the New Year.

The figures themselves will cost 10.99 a piece in the UK. 12 will be released on November 28th followed by a further six on December 19th.

A handful of other titles will also at some stage support Amiibo including Mario Kart 8 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils Aime has previously predicted that Amiibo can have a significant impact on driving the install base for the Wii U”.
