Archos has a £24.99 VR headset on the way

A low-cost virtual reality headset that is compatible with a range of smartphones has been revealed by Archos.

The Archos VR Glasses will work with any smartphone with a screen of six-inches or less and a quad-core processor, and is apparently compatible with a range of over 100 VR titles available across iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

And it’ll cost just 24.99.

Consuming digital content has gone through lots of revolutions lately,” CEO Loc Poirier said. Virtual Reality is another one that we help sharing with people by providing high quality yet attainable devices.”

The Archos VR joins what is an increasingly crowded market which at the one end has the entry-level Google Cardboard, followed by the mid-level Samsung Gear VR and then at the premium end the Facebook-owned Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus.
